The first subway lines (line 1-4), built in the 70s and 80s, have undergone major renovations since winter 2014. When the hidden structures were uncovered, I felt as if we saw the history of the subway built long ago. The scenery created by the construction site of the subway lines shows the inner layer of the city. At the same time, it is a process of eradicating traces of dictatorships that led the first subway development in the past. Completely erasing the historicity of the past and renewing it with a new look is now a trend of Korean cities. As such, Seoul's subways are under construction to provide a new appearance that cannot be traced by the times.
